Located in one of the (many) treasures of Charlevoix, the Parc national des Grands Jardins, Mont-du-Lac-des-Cygnes hike has everything to amaze.

We started our climb at the end of the afternoon, just to have a drink and dinner at the top. I went with some friends (we are also nicknamed "Friends of Sépaq"): @jeannemap, @iamquentinorain and his girlfriend @maewennbianicphoto. There’s no doubt, we all love the great outdoors!

We'd been warned: the wind is very intense at the top. No problem, I always carry my RENGAS in my hiking bag. This coat is perfect for travel and outdoor activities.

For photographers, the Kangaroo pocket is a must: spare battery, cell phone and other useful accessories, always nearby.

The Mont-du-Lac-des-Cygnes hike is a good introduction to more serious and difficult hikes *. Its well-marked path, rather wide, with many stairs and wooden platforms will charm you over 8.6 km (round trip), lasting approximately 3 hours. If you've ever been on a hike with content creators, you know you have to add a good two hours! There are many great stops and viewpoints, such as Lake George.

For those looking for a challenge, you can add the Pioui trail to your itinerary for a total of 10.4 km.
* This trail is rated "difficult" by the SEPAQ.

As expected, there was a lot of wind, but it's also one of the most impressive viewpoints in Charlevoix. At the top, there's subalpine mountain vegetation (be careful! Stay on the trail) offering a unique atmosphere.

It was my first time on the Mont-du-Lac-des-Cygnes trail and certainly not my last! I can't wait to get back there there this fall, with the beautiful colors!

Have a good summer hiking season!
